After some unavoidable delays, Pine Mountain Sand & Gravel‘s 28th anthology is out, and it’s worth the wait. I’m excited to share my digital photographic art “The End is Near” is included in this issue. I’m equally excited for my work to appear alongside that of fellow poet and photographer friends! (In related wonderful news, a poem and digital photographic art will appear in their next edition.)

About “The End is Near”

“The End is Near” is a digital photograph that features landscape, unusual perspectives, and a little surrealism. It all started with the tilt of a landmark sign in a landscape photo I took on one of my favorite hikes (Round Bald). Perusing my photos one day in search of inspiration, something about the sign and cloud lines in the photograph stirred me. A seed of hellfire and brimstone entered my Photoshop realm and blossomed into an apocalyptic mountaintop.

Other Authors and Artists Appearing in the Issue

I’m thrilled to be featured with friends (and fellow Poetry Society of Tennessee members)! The talented poet Danita Dodson adds artist to her credentials with the publication of a photograph in this issue. Poet, writer, essayist (and 80s aficionado) Chrissie Anderson Peters has a poem in the issue. Other fellow members and friends with work in this issue include Sharon Waters, Sarah Cummins Small, Matthew Gilbert, Patricia Hope, Laura Gunnells Miller, Linda Parsons, Sherry Poff, and Chris Wood. This is just a few of the many fine writers and artists to enjoy in this edition.
